Who we are

Pawped is a pet information website. Contact: hello@pawped.com. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Pawped operator is the data controller for this site. To identify the current controller for a formal request, please email us at the address above.

What we collect

Information you give us directly

• Free-text inputs you type into the cost calculator, adoption search, or breed matchmaker (e.g. a ZIP code or a city name). We do not store those inputs on our servers — they stay in your browser or are passed to the third-party adoption network you selected.
• Email address if you contact us at hello@pawped.com. We keep such correspondence in our email inbox for as long as needed to answer you.

Information collected automatically

• Preferences — your chosen language, country, currency and unit system are stored in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them across visits.
• Analytics — if you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to see aggregate, non-identified traffic patterns.
• Affiliate tracking — when you click an outbound link to a partner (Amazon, Chewy, Lemonade, Spot, Pawp, Vetster, Embark, Wisdom Panel, Petfinder), we append a UTM tag identifying the click as coming from Pawped. The partner may set its own cookies once you land on their site; that is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
• Server access logs — Firebase Hosting logs IP, timestamp, and URL of each request for security purposes.

Cookies & local storage

We do not display third-party display advertising on Pawped today. If we add it in future, we will update this policy and gate the corresponding cookies behind consent for EU visitors.

Legal basis for processing (EU / UK visitors)

• Essential cookies & preferences — legitimate interest (they exist to make the site usable in your language and units).
• Google Analytics — consent. If you decline, GA is not loaded.
• Affiliate outbound clicks — your action; we don't set trackers on your device beyond the UTM tag on the URL you clicked.

Children (COPPA / GDPR-K)

Pawped operates a section called Kids Zone, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from any user we know to be under 13. If a parent or guardian believes we have inadvertently done so, please email hello@pawped.com and we will delete it. We do not serve personalised advertising in the Kids Zone.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, California, or another region with comparable privacy law, you have the right to (a) access what personal data we hold about you, (b) request correction or deletion, (c) object to processing, and (d) lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@pawped.com. We respond within 30 days.

Data transfers

Pawped is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting (data may be processed in the US or the EU). Google Analytics, if enabled, transfers data to the US under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
