Pixie-bob

Bred in the US in the 1980s to resemble the North American bobcat. Despite the wild look, the Pixie-bob is fully domestic with a short or 'bob' tail of varying length.

  • Often polydactyl (extra toes) - the only TICA breed where this is allowed.
  • Tail can range from 2 inches to bob-like.
  • Recognised by TICA in 1995 as the only documented domestic-wild hybrid before testing.
  • DNA testing has since shown them to be fully domestic.
  • Originally bred from a stray in Washington state.
